MEDIA RELEASE
September 28, 2021
Hamilton, ON – Factory Media Centre (FMC) is pleased to announce it’s moving from 228 James Street North to an accessible, affordable, modernized media arts community space at 366 Victoria Avenue North. While completing the renovations of our new space FMC will be fulfilling equipment rentals out of the basement of the Hamilton Artists Inc., located at 155 James Street North.
The renovation of FMC’s new home is made possible through an Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grant of $150,000 over 9 months to build an accessible, affordable, and modernized media arts community space for local artists. “Our new and improved multi-faceted space will be equipped with a sound stage for large productions, a 500 square foot gallery, and amenities for members, including an editing suite, sound recording and multimedia studio, and equipment storage. FMC is excited to embark on this next chapter while ensuring a commitment to accessibility, inclusiveness, and diversity within the industry. We will invite the community to gather in celebration at our new space once the renovations are complete.” Kristina Durka, Operations Coordinator.
